Who is this guy? Where is he coming from and where are we going to? Fact. I grew up in the heartland , in the days of the transistor radio under covers late at night, listening to far away radio waves from St. Louis, Chicago, Kansas City, New Orleans, Denver, Los Angeles, El Paso, Canada, and Mexico, and from wherever else the late night cloud cover would allow me to listen and hear those far away sounds. And who could forget those late nights in Tulsa, listening to the cool big band sounds with the DJ who was so smooth, so cool so late night that I can still hear Johnny Martin/s voice, my radio hero and mentor. But I digress.
Spending 9 Lives
This Alley Cat could not get enough. Rocking to the new beats, dreaming and waiting for a … waiting for what? Waiting for Godot? Waiting for the sun? Waiting for the next hit, the newest music messiah, the next bard or songbird to come along? The next dance craze? The next scene or hair style to grace the day? The Beatles? or what? I waited for it all and I am still waiting for that miracle. I hope you are too.

I photographed the musical scene, the bands, the musical giants, has beens, and all in between. I played music for my friends, I made friends through the music, and I aways looked for new musical adventures. I found these new musical adventures, I listened I asked questions. Somewhere along the way The Grateful Pirate was born unto KFTW The Pirate out of Fort Worth,Texas. Radio legends and legendary people. Broadcasters brodcasting send out those Mixed Signals all over America and the world large.
So Radio Dave and The Grateful Pirate are two guys who have melded into this voice, these voices and they want to entertain you. These two guys share the same ideals, the same ideas, and the same cooking utensils. If you listen, you will find a Pirate Chest full of silver, gold and all sorts of unheard treasures and pleasures and treats for your ears. Won’t you joint us?
I want to send Mixed Signals to you and everybody else. There will be musical specials, birthday celebrations, milestones in recording history, special guests, and special things we have not yet imagined. I / we can hardly wait. How about you? Yea I’m talking about you……
